Can’t be-leaf it

This weekend we set our clocks back and husbandman and I spent that extra hour raking up leaves and soaking up the unusually warm weather. We filled a lucky 13 yard waste bags!

Remind me again why we wanted a house with trees? Oh yeah, the shade, privacy, beauty, space… There’s also a beautiful tree located in the green area in the cul-de-sac right in front of our house and when it sheds its leaves they end up in our yard since we’re at the very back of the cul-de-sac. Oh well. Four hands definitely made for lighter work and we were able to get the yard fully cleared while Harrison napped.

I also got some of our outdoor Christmas decor out. I put out the two pre-lit evergreens in urns at the front door. I’ll need an outdoor rated extension cord for the two trees and the matching garland that I’m planning to put around the door frame. I’ll also be needing some hooks of some kind to hold up the garland. So I’ll get out and do that and let you know when it’s all done and getting closer to ready for Christmas.

What about you? How did you spend your extra hour? Any sleeper-inners out there? Any locals take advantage of the great weather with an outdoor project like getting their Christmas lights up? Do tell!

  1. Christmas lights are on the house but not our hedge or shrubs yet. Nicholas let us sleep yesterday morning but this morning he was bright eyed and bushy tailed at 6 a.m. Hah.
